Whenever one examines the workings of sexual activity, dangers of disease transmittal must be considered – Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs).

• Research by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimated that one in four teenage females have one or more STDs.

• If the teenage females have such a high percentage of STDs, one might conclude that the teenage males have a significant percentage with infections as well.

• STDs can be transmitted by oral sex. Actual penetration does not have to occur.

• The only way to be sure to not transmit STDs is to refrain from sexual activity.

• The most common STD is HPV (human papillomavirus infection), which in many forms is linked to genital warts and cancer.

• Even teenage girls with only one lifetime partner had over a 20% infection rate. Girls with three or more partners had a rate of over 50%.
